Folk Art Painting of Colonial Baby in Pink Dress Eating Strawberries Decorative Box

You are here:

$24.99

This rectangular decorative box features an early 19th century portrait painted by the first African American a portrait artist, Joshua Johnson in Baltimore Maryland,   The fabric top lid is framed with pale pink pom-pom trim.  The sides of the top are covered with a light pink lace trim that borders the outside lid.  The inside of the top of the box is  covered with a mauve and pink vintage looking wallpaper printed on cardstock.    The bottom of the box is lined with a pink and white Damask print, felt material.   The outside of the box is painted with a faint pink acrylic paint and is bordered with a ballet pink velvet ribbon with and additional thin,  dark gray,  velvet  running horizontally through the center. The dimensions of this rectangular box are 3.5 inches x 2.5 inches x 1.5 inches.   (Please understand that these boxes are NOT perfect.  They may have some stray paint on the inside lid or the ribbon may not be evenly adhered.  The fact that they are handmade makes them unique,  and adds to the vintage/antique vibe.   I hope you enjoy this decorative cardboard box to store your favorite jewelry piece or treasured trinket.  They also make great gifts either on their own, or to put a special gift inside.)
