Victorian Emerald Cherub Earrings
At one point in Victorian Britain, GREEN was such a popular color that the entire country seemed to be ‘bathed’ in it…. until it was discovered that there was arsenic in the green dye!!!! Sorry for the buzz kill. Let’s talk about cherubs….Cherubs were very prevalent in Victorian architecture and they were often used as the focal point in jewelry pieces. These raw brass, hollow-back earring components feature a cherub or angle head and wings. These vintage style emerald green cherub earrings measure approximately 3 inches from the top bead to the bottom of the hanging chain. Swarovski crystals, Czech glass and acrylic beads were incorporated into these earrings. The French ear wires are gold plated and nickel free.
