George Washington Bead Embroidered Bib Necklace

This first couple refused to have a pre-nuptial agreement because they trusted and loved one another….George Washington once wrote, “Love is a mighty pretty thing; but like all other delicious things, it is cloying; and when the first transports of the passion begins to subside, which it assuredly will do, and yield – oftentimes too late – to more sober reflections, it serves to evince, that love is too dainty a food to live upon alone…” His love for Martha grew and never wavered. This handmade George Washington necklace is made with hundreds of tiny glass seed beads that are hand sewn/embroidered onto a bib shaped backing. George was molded from polymer clay, hand painted, glazed, and his eyes were set with dark Swarovski crystals. The Martha Washington cabochons were handmade with resin material. The necklace is finished with red, glass, Czech rondelle beads, blue and white floral beads, and a gold plated clasp and hardware.
